When, as children will do while begging to have a dog as a pet, a mother utters
those Famous Last Words: "When you are grown up and have your own place,
you can have as many dogs as you want!"....WATCH OUT!
And so the Story begins.
RUARAIGH is a Gaelic name meaning "red king" or sometimes "red haired" and is
pronounced "Roo-e-ree", also the Gaelic form of the name "Rory". I had been looking for a kennel
name for myself and while traveling in Ireland in 2003, I came across a character in a book I was
reading named "Ruaraigh". I liked the way it sounded, then discovered its meaning....perfect for
myself as a person with red hair, and for our Corgi "red kings", I thought! ~Kathryn Brandt
