Ruger is my first "show dog", a world I swore I would
never be interested in! The addiction began at his very
first Puppy Match - my first time ever in a show ring -
when at 5 months of age he won Best Herding Group
Puppy! Talk about positive reinforcement! So we went
to conformation classes every single week and
entered every single dog show we could
find...anywhere! My new obsession knew no bounds,
and my love for conformation showing grew into a
passion, no more so than at my very first PWCCA
National specialty in 2001 where Ruger won his
class....then moments later went on to finish his very
first agility title at that National Specialty!
When Ruger finished his championship - with several
Best of Breeds and a Group 4 along the way - I knew
he was only the "first" for me. "Firsts" of anything are
huge in my life, and Ruger remains the best
"Champion of My Heart"!!
